The Jordan Winery Renovation: A Masterclass in Refinement

Founded in 1972 and largely untouched since its opening, Jordan Vineyard & Winery underwent a major eight-month renovation which saw the complete transformation of its luxury guest suites. Designed by Californian Interior Designer Maria Haidamus, the new lodgings stay true to the vineyard’s traditional French style, which simultaneously draws upon global designs and influences.

Maria’s aim was to honour and enhance the architectural features of the building whilst introducing a more modern touch to each room. Known for classic English designs with a strong contemporary edge, Drummonds were the perfect choice for the property’s bathrooms and ensuites.

In this ensuite, Drummonds’ impressive freestanding Wye bath in a painted finish is set against strikingly veined white marble. Cool Nickel fittings feature throughout, from the Coll basin taps and bath mixer to the towel rails and bathroom mirrors. The Double Thames vanity with an Arabescato marble top adds a timeless feeling to the space.

Here, two black marble vanities are paired with Drummonds’ 3-hole Coll taps finished with beautiful metal handles. The Dalby surface-mounted shower and 200mm rose are featured in the luxurious walk-in shower, sitting against a dramatic grey marble surface.

Drummonds’ Leawood basin taps and towel rail in a soft Nickel finish bring a classic, elegant feel to this ensuite, and are in perfect harmony with the overall scheme of the room.

Talking about the project, Maria says: “I was honoured to be tasked with the remodel of the guest suites at Jordan. My goal was to embrace the heritage of the property and update it by layering in refined furnishings and finishes to make the suites more sophisticated and sumptuous.”

Largely considered the gold standard of winery lodges in California, Jordan’s new luxury suites more than match up to the vineyard’s sparkling reputation.
