Comprised of a ground and lower ground floor, this 19thcentury, Grade II listed property in Clapham was completely refurbished by interior design studio Hutley & Humm, to include new floors, a new kitchen and master bathroom, as well as stylish new furnishings and finishes.
The overall feel of the space is elegant and sophisticated, but with small injections of colour, pattern, and texture, reflecting the owners’ sense of style and personality. The colour palette used throughout is a blend of pale greens, soothing blues and soft pinks, with bolder hues used as accent colours.

As the owner intended to spend a lot of time in the space, it was important that the bathroom had a distinct character and a relaxing feel. The Tamar bath is key to the room’s success; highly luxurious and incredibly comfortable, it contributes to the bathrooms’ ‘hotel suite’ feel.
The layout remains largely faithful to the original design, however greater storage space was incorporated in the form of under-counter, built-in storage in the bespoke Porter vanity. Chosen to echo the floor tiles, marble was selected for the vanity top, providing a dramatic contrast to the Bestwood basin mixers and Derwent lights above, all finished in unlacquered brass.
Highly impactful, the walk-in shower space features beautifully soothing zellige tiles, which allow the striking brass finish of the Grand hand shower and the Bestwood controls to take centre stage.
