Steeped in rich history dating back to 1828, the family-run inn offers four exclusive luxury bedrooms for an intimate escape where guests can fully immerse themselves in the Aberdeenshire countryside. A comprehensive renovation by Joelle Reid Interiors transformed this quaint country inn into an outpost of escapist luxury.

The owners were determined to elevate the inn to an authentic yet opulent retreat. The dated bathrooms received particular attention, with a goal to complement the inn’s overall aesthetic while offering an unexpected touch of luxury to guests. Drummonds proved the perfect choice.

A dark, rich palette evokes a sense of timeless elegance, with the inn’s original character influencing every decision, from the selection of materials to the choice of fittings. With roots reaching far beyond our 30 years as a maker of bathrooms, Drummonds’ traditional craftsmanship seamlessly blends the warmth of tradition with the sophistication of modern luxury.

A carefully curated selection of Drummonds’ antique brushed brass fixtures, Victorian tiles, marble, and wood was chosen for its ability to convey both quality and heritage. Farrow & Ball paints and William Morris fabrics add depth and texture to the walls.

Special attention was given to the brassware, vanities, and freestanding shower. These pieces were selected not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their ability to enhance the individuality of each bathroom. The result is a collection of spaces that exhibit a rich and traditional ambiance, offering guests a unique experience that feels distinctly Scottish.

The renovation of the Kildrummy Inn took nine months to complete, with every detail carefully considered, from the grand architectural elements to the smallest finishing touches. The feedback from guests has been overwhelmingly positive, with many delighted to discover such unexpected luxury in a rural Scottish inn with the bathrooms a standout feature.
