The new Buttermere single vanity has a harmonious simplicity, uniting a white china top with prettily tapered metal legs, a modern update on our timeless Windermere basin. The elegant curves have been sculpted and glazed by hand from the finest English china clay. Unlike the Windermere (now also a double vanity), which is made totally from clay, the Buttermere features beautiful metal legs. The bow front of the basin is echoed in the towel rail below.

Creating a beautifully made and hand-finished Drummonds design in clay is a process that simply cannot be rushed. It begins in our foundries, where clay is constantly mixed in small batches to ensure the consistency is perfectly suited for firing. This patient journey takes several weeks per basin, but the results are always worth the wait. The firing process itself is a procedure that requires immense care to produce the finest and most durable products. As the clay gradually shrinks by up to twelve per cent, we allow the material to settle naturally, ensuring the finished piece possesses a timeless grace and a flawless surface.
