A Unique Family Home in Notting Hill

In the heart of Notting Hill, an unassuming Edwardian house hides a masterpiece of contemporary architecture. Reconfigured for modern family life by Hanson Architects, a shaft of natural light runs through the house to reach every floor; opening up each room. 

A collaboration between the owner, architects and interior designer,DelphineRougé-Parsat, the house’s considered decoration is a perfect mix of playful yet sophisticated.

An intimate space bursting with rich colours and vintage artworks, the downstairs living room juxtaposes with the otherwise bright open living spaces.

A commitment to natural light and organic shapes continues to the master bathroom. Created to be a relaxing retreat, soothing shades and soft shapes are combined with vintage details such as the unique mirror hanging above the Double Ladybower inArabescatoMarble. The two Single Derwent Lights with Fluted Shades are the perfect addition, instilling a retro-chic charm to the space. 

Each room is filled with antiques, artwork and thoughtfully chosen furniture which the owners have collected over many years, notably from vintage dealers and flea markets around Paris. These carefully curated pieces elevate the home, achieving a uniqueness in every room, with bold contemporary design elevating the classic British interior.

The property’s second bathroom is used by the family’s children and has a more playful edge to it,showcasingtheir vibrant paintings. Warm green panelling in a mellow shade from Farrow and Ball continues to the classic Cast IronUskBathtub for a seamless and harmonious space.
