A Jewel-Box Powder Room

Nicola Harding x Drummonds at WOW!House 2025

For WOW!House 2025, Drummonds has teamed up with acclaimed interior designer Nicola Harding to create a truly transportive space—a powder room that glimmers like a jewel box, saturated in colour, craft, and creativity.

Having worked with Drummonds for over a decade, Nicola brought her deep appreciation for the brand’s traditional techniques and artisanal quality to the fore. “WOW!House is an opportunity to present a designer’s point of view on a room and showcase the extraordinary craftsmanship which underpins what we do,” she says. “I began working with Drummonds over 10 years ago and have always admired the original techniques they preserve at their foundry. You need that authenticity if you are going to tell a story with a room.”

Drawing inspiration from the idea of the powder room as a private, contemplative space, Nicola embraced a more dramatic approach to design. “It’s a room where you’re likely to be alone,” she explains. “So it can be an escape—somewhere that offers a moment of respite and reflection. We wanted to create an intoxicating atmosphere, rich with colour and texture.”

Her vision unfolds in an opulent palette of ruby, jade, and turquoise, accented with semi-reflective surfaces including burnished brass and foxed mirror. Glazed Bejmat tiles, antiqued mirrors and woven textiles combine with bold soft furnishings to create a maximalist, enveloping effect. The doors of the built-in cupboard are upholstered in durries from a new Vanderhurd collection co-designed by Nicola and Christine Van Der Hurd—a special preview ahead of the collection’s official launch.

Furnishings have been curated with an eye for comfort and artistry. A desk, armchair and floor lamp from Nicola’s own NiX by Nicola Harding line sit beneath a dramatic tented ceiling in a fabric by Tissus d’Hélène, with additional decorative touches from Jamb, Collier Webb, and NiX.

This year’s WOW!House marks a significant moment for Drummonds, with the unveiling of our first-ever collection of cabinet and storage vanities. Designed in collaboration with Nicola Harding and crafted in our own foundry, the new pieces reflect a subtle Art Deco influence and represent a new direction in our design language.

The collection includes a marble-topped vanity in single and double basin formats, as well as a compact design with a ceramic top—each featuring custom-cast handles and refined proportions suited to both classic and contemporary interiors.

For us, this collaboration is a celebration of what we value most: enduring materials, time-honoured craftsmanship, and designs that tell a story.

This is your last week to visit WOW!House, so make sure to get there before it closes on 3 July 2025.
