Classic and Strikingly Contemporary

By Marc Newson

In a Jacobean house in the Cotswolds, Marc Newson’s primary bathroom spotlights his collection for Drummonds.

The Coln bath is situated in a large, light filled room that overlooks the garden and the River Coln running through the property. The room is painted a soft blue grey, with a fireplace, high ceilings and stone windows

The bespoke mirror cabinet, towel rails and shelf are all crafted from a pure white Thassos marble, echoing the tone and geometry of the bath.

The equally spacious shower room appears otherworldly through a seamless doorway. Striato Olimpico marble encases the whole room, from wall to floor and seamlessly around every entrance. Flanking the entryway to the room is a pod-like W/C and storage space.

The double ceiling shower with the Bibury shower plates paired with Drummonds’ 300 mm Easy Clean Shower Rose shower head has cubby holes recessed into the marble.

The room perfectly encapsulates the collection: pared-back, functional and at once classic and strikingly contemporary.
