Drummonds Bathrooms develops products that meet the rigorous certification and product approval standards of recognised bodies, ensuring compliance with the UK, the US and the EU regulations for performance, safety, and durability.

 


UK CONFIRMITY ASSESSED (UKCA)

A certification to show that a product meets the UK regulations (post Brexit). Prior to Brexit, UK regulations were covered by the CE mark. Applicable to certain bathroom products, it includes characteristics like impact resistance and durability.

 

Conformité Européenne (CE)

A certification to show that a product meets the EU regulations. Applicable to certain bathroom products, it includes characteristics like impact resistance and durability.

 

Water Regulations Approval Scheme (WRAS)

A UK Certification for plumbing products and materials. WRAS tests products against safety and efficiency standards and approval demonstrates that the fitting/product meets UK Water Regulations.

 

 International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO)

Certifies that products meet the criteria of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC). Products are tested to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.

 

Massachusetts Accepted Plumbing Products (MA)

A specific plumbing code for the state of Massachusetts. The underlying safety and performance requirements are based upon IAPMO testing and certification.

 

Ingress Protection (IP Rating)

The level of protection provided by an electrical devise, against dust, water and other foreign objects. The first number in the rating represents protection against solids (dust etc.) and the second number represents protection against liquids. Certain zones within a bathroom have minimum IP rating requirements

  • Drummonds lights are IP44 – Protection against solids >1mm and ‘splashing of water’
  • Towel rail elements/cables are IP55 – Protection against most dust and ‘water jets’

 

 

Underwriters Laboratories (UL)

A safety certification based in the US, focusing on electrical safety, fire resistance and durability of electrical devices. UL listing is a requirement for certain building codes and regulations in the United States.
