News | London Design Week ‘Design Inspiration’ Evening
On Monday 15th September we celebrated the London Design Festival by holding our very own ‘Design Inspiration’ evening.
Led by Giles Kime, Executive Editor of Homes & Gardens, the evening centred on a discussion with internationally renowned designers Guy Goodfellow, Maurizio Pellizzoni, Susie Atkinson and Martin Brudnizki on the timeless topic of design inspiration.
Where designers get their ideas from, Giles observed, is an ‘endless’ topic which we could spend all night discussing! Instead, we spent an hour looking at the styles, spaces, objects and works of art which had inspired each of the designers personally, and used these to address some of the most pertinent questions in design:
Where does inspiration come from?
What makes ‘good’ design?
Are designers born, or made?
All of the items were illuminating, some surprising! All in all, it was an enjoyable, engaging and thoroughly inspiring evening.
We would like to thank the designers for giving their time and contributions, and every one of you who came. We hope you took some inspiration home with you, and that you enjoy the rest of London Design Week.
