Art Deco Inspiration

Designed by Cherie Lee Interiors

Part of the extensive renovation of a Grade II listed, Queen Anne style property, this master ensuite underwent a dramatic makeover, transforming a very modern bathroom into a space that is more reflective of the period heritage of the building.

Designed by interior designer Cherie Lee Interiors, the brief was to successfully combine classic, traditional style fixtures and fittings with playful, characterful elements that reflected the owners’ personalities. Drummonds was the obvious choice when it came to the bathroomware.

Cherie says: “Drummonds’ products are of such high quality. They have a real elegance about them whilst still retaining an eclectic, edgy feel – the perfect blend.”

The Double Locky Vanity with Arabescato Marble forms the focal point of the room. Paired with highly decorative wallpaper, sleek metro tiles and warm brass fittings, it helps to draw the eye out from the bedroom, beyond the stained-glass partition, and directly into the bathroom.

Round Tilt Mirrors and Double Derwent Lights provide the perfect finishing touches, adding glamour to the space.

Other pieces, such as the Dalby surface mounted shower and the WC are sited behind the stud wall, helping to maintain a sense of privacy. The unlacquered brass finish was chosen for its aged appearance; the brass will gradually age with time creating a patina which is in-keeping with the architecture of the house.

Drummonds’ products were also specified for the downstairs cloakroom. The clients wanted to recreate the art deco feel found in other areas of the house and so Cherie opted for bold geometric tiles, a maximalist wallpaper, and a large ornamental mirror for the cloakroom’s décor.
