Georgian Inspired New Build | Cheshire

by Harriet Hughes

Interior designer Harriet Hughes specified Drummonds’ bathroomware for this Georgian inspired new build in Cheshire.

Her brief from the client was to channel the classic elegance of a luxury country house hotel; something she has achieved through the clever utilisation of light, space and architectural forms and by specifying the ultimate in luxury materials and fittings.

Set against white panelled walls and a backdrop of Carrara marble, Drummonds’ burnished copper Usk bath and Leawood floor standing bath and shower mixer in an unlacquered brass finish take centre stage in the master bathroom.

Designed by Martin Brudnizki for Drummonds, the Leawood collection, with its hallmark flattened edge, is seen throughout, from the wall-mounted basin mixers and 6-bar towel rail, to the bespoke shower set-up. The unlacquered brass finish used throughout perfectly matches the fluted glass wall lights and brass handles of the vanity, proving a cohesive flow to the space.

Separated and partially concealed from the main space, the wetroom is fitted with a bespoke marble bench and recessed shelf.

Featuring the 300mm (12”) shower rose and combining the Grand and Leawood collections, the gleaming shower set-up makes a bold statement and excellently showcases the quality and craftmanship of Drummonds’ bathroomware.

The guest bathroom features a stylish mix of warm brass bathroomware and chic herringbone tiles. Set in a bespoke enclosure, our surface-mounted Dalby Shower takes centre stage. With exposed pipework and classically styled thermostatic controls with a porcelain inset, it’s a true statement piece.

The Naver china basin provides a sense of balance to the space, whilst the herringbone tiles add a sense of drama. Brass finishes are echoed throughout, from the vanity stand, towel rail and tilt mirror to the decorative Derwent lights.
