Country Bathing

West Sussex

This impressive country villa in West Sussex expertly showcases quintessential contemporary country style, featuring classic products from Drummonds throughout.

Part of a complete renovation of the property, which included the addition of an entire floor, the owner opted for Drummonds’ bathroomware for each of the villas seven bathrooms. Known for creating timeless English pieces, made using traditional materials and manufacturing techniques, their products were the perfect choice to reflect the style and heritage of the building.

A variety of different materials and finishes were chosen, bringing a unique character to each bathroom. Shown here, Verde Guatemala marble used for the Lowther vanity top, as well as in the double walk-in shower, provides a dramatic backdrop to gleaming chrome fittings. A freestanding Avon in a polished finish takes centre stage, sited in front of the large sash window.

This bathroom combines pale blue hues with strikingly veined white marble. A sleek glass walk-in shower enclosure, featuring the Dalby shower, emulates the look and feel of luxury wetroom, whilst the freestanding Usk in a hand painted finish brings a more traditional style and is framed by a sculpted piece of marble, echoing that found in the shower space and atop the single vanity.

With a more masculine feel, this room juxtaposes moody Nero Marquina marble and black painted elements with bold brass fittings and finishes. Panelled wood floors, a vintage rug and classic artwork contribute to the bathroom’s traditional country aesthetic.

Bringing added luxury to this ensuite, the owner opted for the Wye in a burnished copper finish. An example of one of Drummonds’ specialist craft processes, this finish begins with wrapping the bath exterior in sheet copper. The metal is then hand-burnished with special rotating tools to create a characteristic lustre. A brass finish on the double vanity and five bar towel rail creates a characterful clash.

With a slightly more eclectic feel, this bathroom introduces daring pops of red and combines different design styles to achieve a twist on classic English look. Drummonds Morar bath, single Thames vanity and Mull taps ground the space.

Once again black marble and brass metallic finishes are combined in the downstairs shower room below. An Adjustable Shower Rose is paired with exposed Dalby surface mounted shower, making more of a statement against the marble than if it were concealed.
