Design Diary | Accessories, Accessories, Accessories!

Often seen as the ‘finishing touches’, bathroom accessories are almost always considered as a last thought despite the fact they are frequently used. Accessories are incredibly important as they have the potential to transform a bathroom into a truly personal space, with everything in it’s place, just how you like it. We think it’s time to bring bathroom accessories to the forefront of your planning allowing you to take into consideration their style and placement as part of your overall bathroom design. To help you, we’ve put together some handy tips for you to consider when planning your bathroom to include accessories in imaginative ways.

  1. Handy Robe Hooks

Robe hooks are for more than just the back of the bathroom door. They can be used to hang towels all over a bathroom; by a shower or low down next to a sink for a hand towel. Positioned at intervals on a panelled wall gives a Shaker style effect allowing you to hang more decorative items like pictures, chairs and robes. Whats more, if you were to position a couple above a normal radiator you’d increase your drying space for towels. Hooks are so useful so don’t just hide them away.

  1. Spacious Bottle Racks

Our hand made bottle racks are ideal for placing inside your shower enclosure. We suggest using three, one above the other, especially if you have a smaller enclosure as you will maximise storage. They can also be used as a way to house scented candles or a perfume diffuser and bottles outside of the shower as well as beauty products which you would find more useful on a wall beside the bath or sink.

  1. Useful Towel Rings

If you have a freestanding bath tub with a shower over the top what better way to dress it than with a billowing shower curtain with a beautiful print and soft texture. Our towel rings positioned next to the tub are a great for tucking the curtains away in order to let them dry sufficiently and this will also add a touch of the theatrical to your look. What’s more, next to the bath is a great position to hang your towel whilst you’re bathing.

  1. Beautiful Glass Shelves

Our triple and single glass shelves don’t just have to be for toothbrushes. They are a great way to display interesting features such as plants or art work. Whilst you would normally find them under the bathroom mirror, why not stagger three on an empty wall to display your favourite perfume bottles.
