Interior Trends | Sculpted Marble In Bathroom Design

Marble is set to be a top trend next year and we personally love using this beautiful material in bathroom design, as nothing says luxury and glamour like marble. It is a fantastic material to use in a bathroom as it is hard wearing and versatile.

It’s important to take your time sourcing the right marble for your bathroom project as the texture, cut and thickness can dramatically affect the mood of the room.  Marble is a lavish choice and is usually expensive – you want to ensure that you are spending your money wisely on good quality materials.  Marble is a porous material and like any stone it will need to be sealed and cared for when used in a bathroom.  Our marble vanity units come sealed and ready to use.

Below, we take a look at some bathrooms in which marble has been used in various different ways.

In this beautiful Georgian Rectory in the Yorkshire countryside, the combination of the Arabescato marble basin surface and wall surfacing with the reclaimed wood flooring adds wonderful warmth to what could be quite a cold room.

Panelled Townhouse Case Study

This is a very different bathroom look, but is another example of a hand-carved marble basin surround paired with wood flooring.  The warmth of the wood flooring combined with the dramatic black wall panelling and Arabescato marble top creates a sophisticated scheme.

The Hebdern vanity basin in black marble

We love mixing different materials and textures to create something striking.  The on-trend industrial look is explored here through the use of Marquina black marble combined with metro tiles and a concrete floor.

Industrial Conversion Case Study

Opulent and luxurious, this bathroom is an industrial conversion in which walls and floor join in a seamless curve, clad entirely in Italian Carrara marble. The freestanding Usk bathtub is painted in a cool blue that complements the marble without stealing the focus.
