INTERIOR TRENDS | Silk Route At Decorex 2013

With Decorex fast approaching, Drummonds is busy designing our exhibition set, choosing new products to showcase and getting creative with the Decorex social media campaign. With a central theme taken from the historical network of interlinking trade paths originating from the lucrative Chinese silk trade, Silk Route signifies the major influence this had upon UK and European design.

The Silk Road runs from China, through India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Turkey before reaching the UK. Its influence can be seen from the backstreets of small villages through to the temples of large cities en route. With this in mind, we have assembled a number of inspiring images that bring together the textures, colours, cultures and landmarks that show the influence of this trade.
